On 10 March, President Vladimir Putin made a rare visit to the State Duma, Russia’s lower house, to speak on amendments proposed by lawmakers during the second reading of the constitutional change bill. Unexpectedly, he backed a proposal to ‘reset’ his presidential term count. This means that, pending final approval from lawmakers and the Constitutional Court, Putin will be able to serve two more terms as president.
